Dyondza Rixaka Education Programme

In his lifetime as an Education Specialist in the Mpumalanga Department of Education, the late Johan Holme Ndlovu was known as a keen advocate for the Funza Lushaka Programme and would visit various churches and schools motivating young people to get educated. He believed that education was the key to success and the ultimate tool that can be used for the advancement of the community. As such, the foundation aims to partner with schools, educators, institutions of higher learning, non-profit organizations and government to make education accessible to all young people in Manyeleti.

We have a standing partnership with the Fumile Nkuna Foundation and aim to form more partnerships that will be founded with the aim of addressing the challenges that face learners, teachers and schools in Manyeleti. These challenges include lack of resources, lack of capacity and challenges that face learners in these schools.

Poverty Alleviation Program

One of the key socio-economic challenges facing the Manyeleti Community is poverty. The foundation aims to use consultative research methodologies to design policies and programmes that will address this challenge. The aim is to use a number of socio-economic instruments available to improve the livelihoods of households living under poverty. The foundation currently has 15 households registered as beneficiaries of this programme and we aim to work together with other organizations, government and traditional leaders to help improve the livelihoods of these families and many other families in the community.

Youth Development Programme

The youth are the backbone of the community, their active participation in community programmes contributes to positive change in the community. Through our Youth Development Programme, we aim to equip young people of Manyeleti with the necessary information, skills, tools and resources to be active participants in community development programmes in the community as entrepreneurs, leaders and activists.

He served as a leader in the SRC of Hoxani College, South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU), the African National Congress (ANC), the Roman Catholic Church and a leader of the Manyeleti Community. In all these, he did not just lead but he served the people and advocated for their needs and amplified their voices. The Annual Johan Holme Ndlovu Soccer Tournament
